Dear Parents and Carers,

We have had another very busy week in school. One of our very important jobs was choosing our new team of Burrowmoor Buddies. Many children applied for these positions and it was a very hard task to choose who to give them to. Our Burrowmoor Buddies will be out on the playground at Playtimes and Lunchtimes (only with their own bubbles at the moment of course) to help support any children who may need them. This might be by being someone to talk to or play with if they find themselves on their own. Our Buddies will have chance to debrief with an adult afterwards in case there are any points that need sharing with an adult. We are very excited about this new system and I know that the chosen pupils are also very keen to get started!

Our Covid systems still seem to be effective however we have noticed that some adults are forgetting to leave the school site via the same gate that they entered by. Please always use the same gate to avoid crossing over with other bubbles. Thank you.

The parking situation out the front of the school has been particularly bad this week - apart from Wednesday when the PCSO was out there patrolling. It is for safety reasons that we ask people to observe the parking restriction signs please - we don't want an accident occurring due to someone being illegally parked.

We are pleased that we have been able to start Forest School again this week; we have carried out all of the extra Covid risk assessments and had these passed by out Trust. Here is a message from Mrs Lakey, our Forest School leader:

It was lovely to welcome back our Year 3 children into our Forest School this week. The children had great fun in our mud kitchen, working together to create some delicious food. They were busy making forest lasagne with bark, leaf and grass layers, a full English breakfast, cake, stew and soup. The children created their own forest buffet on our log stumps.

Other children were able to climb our trees and search for signs of Autumn. The children found many sorts of fungi and several mini beasts.

Year 3 Change of timing:

We have been monitoring our start and end times very carefully to see how the staggered starts and finishes are working. Because everything is flowing very smoothly, we are going to be able to change the start and finish times for our Year 3 children. This will start after half term. So, from Monday 2nd November Year 3's entrance time will be from 9.05am until 9.20am. The library doors will therefore open for you from 9.05am. Your finish time will then be 10 minutes earlier at 3.35pm. Hopefully this will also reduce the waiting time for some parents at the beginning and end of the day as Year 3 are our latest starters and latest finishers! If this change of time does cause any inconvenience for any Year 3 parents and carers then please let us know as we do not want this to be the case and will make sure we sort something out for you.

I hope you all have a good weekend.

Kindest regards
