Term Time Holiday Announcement – Change to current LEA Policy

Re: Term Time Holiday Announcement – Change to current LEA Policy
We have been advised by the Local Authority of significant changes to their existing Term Time Holiday Policy from September 2017. This policy will be implemented as of 1st January 2018.
Amendment No 1:
The Local Education Authority has advised us that any parent/carer who takes a child out of school for a term time holiday of more than 6 consecutive sessions (3 whole school days) over a 4 week period, which is not authorised by the school (under exceptional circumstances rule), may receive a Penalty Notice.
Amendment No 2:
Any singular holiday taken which is more than 3 consecutive days during term time may result in a Penalty Notice issued by the Local Authority.
In order to support our parents with these significant changes in legislation, please see:
- ‘Term Time Holidays’ section of the Cambridgeshire County Council website
- Contact the Office here at Burrowmoor for more information or guidance prior to booking any holiday during term time.
Your continued support is appreciated and we recognise that the vast majority of parents do not take their children out of school during term time. This new policy is in response to the Local Authority Educational Policy.
