Summer 1 2022

This half term, Year 3 will continue to do outdoor PE on a Tuesday and PE on a Friday until we begin our swimming lessons. Our topic focus for this half term is Geography, where we will be investigating whether volcanoes are always dangerous. Linked to this, we will be writing a newspaper report and diary entry about Pompeii, based on our story, ‘Escape from Pompeii’. In Maths, we have just started looking at fractions and are learning about different representations and how fractions are used in everyday life. We are looking forward to our first half-term as Liger class and to seeing some fantastic work as the weeks fly by!

Spring 2 2022 Update

This half term, Year 3 will continue to do outdoor PE on a Tuesday and indoor PE on a Friday. Our topic focus for this half term is History, where we will be investigating whether the railway has been good for March. This links to our local history study and we will be finding out about the history of our local train station. Linked to this, we will be writing an adventure story in English based on our book ‘The Railway Children.’

In Maths, we started the half term looking at multiplication and division and have now moved onto looking at our unit on money.

In PSHCE, we are focussing on how we can keep our bodies healthy and fit.

We can’t wait to see what exciting work the children produce as the term progresses!
