Brave Bears:

Welcome to Year 1. Please keep your eye out below for photos and updates about our learning. At the bottom of this page you will see a curriculum newsletter outlining our learning for the Autumn Term. 

We are the Brave Bears.

Mr. Davey is our teacher. Mrs. Filchev and Miss Burroughs are our learning assistants.

Our PE Days are Monday and Friday. We also have Forest School sessions on Wednesday mornings.

Please make sure the children come with appropriate PE kits, including safe footwear and no jewellery or earrings are allowed to be worn on these days. Please also make sure that as the weather changes warm clothing is provided for outdoor PE lessons.

Homework:

Year One children will be expected to read at home a minimum of 5 times a week. The children will be provided with phonics books (which the child reads to the adult), and a 'Reading for Pleasure' book (which is a story that can be shared by the adult). Reading as often as possible is encouraged as it will support your children's progress across the curriculum.

Please also ensure books and reading records are returned so this can be monitored and so books can be changed.

Reading books will be changed once a week after they have been read 3 times - this needs to be written in your child's reading record.
